    Hi all

    Just a quick update. Had a few issues with trying to cram too many different training methods into the poor bird, he ended up more confused than me, but now we are back on an even keel.

    Now the warmer weather is here I have had to bring his weight down to 6lb 7 oz and what a difference, flying as soon as whistled without raising the glove.

    For the last 2 weeks I have been slipping an oversized hood over his head in the twilight, certainly paid off. ...

    Well my 2 display falcons finished the moult a short time ago and I have just caught them up and put equipment on ready to start getting them fit for forthcoming season, both are as fat as hell.
    One is a 3yr old Lugger a real character with attitude but on the day he flies brilliant flying into arena very low over the audiances heads.

    Out yesterday morning, weight 6lb 10, out thismorning 6lb 10 1/2. Both days excellent. Just about instant response=== max 10 second wait.Coming 50 mtr on 6mm creance, taking garnished and ungarnished lure at 40mtr with no hesitation. Good trade off (once he had let go my wellie boot LOL) threw 1/2 chick to one side then up on glove with no great fuss.
    I feel a bit of a fool, he must be ready to go free but I cant understand how we have come this far with no major problems.
