At fat weight and with some work acclimatising them to each other things should go ok.

Giving them a period each in there isn't really going to help with any aggresion problems, it may help them and you to see if they have any issues with the wire netting sides... like flying at it or hanging on it.

With a male and female harris that are maybe going in to a flight to breed, the normal procedure is to introduce the female in to the males territory... the idea being the male is at home and is normally less aggresive, the female is the stranger within and although she has a tendency to be more aggresive this is lessened by her feeling uncomfortable in this strange place.

Must admit your hubby has done a top job on that... i would also have some concerns about the bird nest box on top if there is a posibility of wild bird droppings getting into the aviary... avian diseases can be transmited to your birds more easily.
    Good luck !!
Some good cmments there Jon. I wouldnt loft them together whatever their weight but if I was...I`d initially keep them bowed in the "hack pen" to allow them to get used to it together.

Oh My! Now thats a Hawk House! Stunning ...

    Few questions for you tho..

1- Are you anywhere near Weston Super Mare? Or even in the Uk?
2- Would your hubby take commissions?
3 - Is there a possibility of paying him to design a mews like that for my harris?

    Cheers, Pip x
