as soon as i have finished my hawking probably about easter the fishing rods will come out and i have plenty shooting and lamping to keep me on my toes

shall get the bass rod out in a few months when theres a few live prawns in the harbour for bait . mind you these new yo zuri plugs on the market are so good and produce some good fishing have used them for 3 years now and had some good spinning. and also leaves you with the option to travel light and further.

I'll keep my male Harris bird clearing for as long as possible and then put him down to moult as he has a few tipped feathers and the odd little injury to rest from. I'll then be using a new(as yet to get) harris to carry on the bird clearance. My Tiercel will be put down to moult in a Month or so and I'll probably fly my falcon through the moult this year.

Keith its only closed season for game fish that doesn't count pike on the fly carp on the fly rudd an grayling which all reside in the itchen.

May take you up on that Tom... what does it cost for days fly fishing on the Test now ? the bit i fished at Eastleigh was free but crap, full ot bikes and tesco trollies !!! would love to fish it further up stream i understand that it is the home of flyfishing in the south.

From memory steve its seventy a day at the moment thats fishing for grayling, which is something i love, rolling the old czech nymph down the gravel bed and watching them take! gets me excted jus thinking of it!
ill find out the rice an let you know.

Thanks Tom yep iv done a bit on rivers but most of my fly fishing has been on lakes or at sea, had a few nice fish two brownies 10.7 & 12.8 and some really good sport with Bass up to 6lb. i think keith wants to go next week at our local trout lakes. I will keep you posted if we get a chance to come down your way.
